Welcome.
My name is Alexandra Bloch, and I am an artist and graphic designer living in Asheville, North Carolina.
Born and raised in New York City, I have lived on both coasts and overseas.
I discovered my talent and passion for painting and drawing as a child, studying later with established artists including David Schorr at Wesleyan University; Jean Bartoli at the Washington Studio School; Robert Neffson, Dan Gheno, Sharon Sprung, Sherry Camhy, and Charles Hinman at the Art Students League of New York; and Stephen Early and Lea Colie Wight from Studio Incamminati.
I use a clean and sparing style to create realistic and naturalistic pictures of figures and forms existing in everyday life. Mindful of life’s chaos, I make fresh and simple imagery offering the viewer a retreat for the eye and spirit. My art offers contemplative glimpses of a simple scene rather than a wide view of a jumbled world.
